SUMMARY

On 27 August 2012 he was confirmed as the Chair of the IEEE P802.3bn EPON Protocol over Coax (EPoC) Task Force (see IEEE 802.3 and IEEE P802.3bn). This new standard project was approved by the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) in August 2012. (EPoC in Wikipedia)

He is currently a Distinquished Engineer in System Architecture for the Broadcom Corporation (formerly Broadcom Limited) (result of acquisition by Avago), and part of the Broadband Carrier Access business group. He was previously a Technical Director at Broadcom Corporation, working under the VP of Technology in the Broadband Technolgy Group of the Broadband and Connectivity business group. Current work is next generation EPON standards ( IEEE P802.3ca 100G-EPON ), extending EPON networking over cable coaxial distribution networks, as well as work in other broadband access network areas.

He has been a consultant in broadband "last mile" technology, architecture, and services, as well as in telecommunications intellectual property.

He has been a patent intellectual property and prior art consultant on broadband access network technology.

Former CTO of Dimark Technologies, Inc., a Silicon Valley software systems provider. Dimark specializes in the Broadband Forum's (DSL-Forum's) TR-069 WAN management arena.

Previously CEO & President Broadband Physics. led small team of engineers and scientists to bring first time implementation and cable industry demonstration of disruptive next generation mathematics for digital signal transmission to prototype and field test readiness which proved the value of the technology, including former CTO Rainmaker Technologies, Inc.

Co-founder, Vice President, and Chief Technology Officer of Com21 (previously NASDAQ: CMTO) where he held senior management and technology positions from first round funding through highly successful IPO and secondary offering. He directed the end-to-end systems architecture, protocol design, performance, and technology of Com21 cable TV broadband access telecommunications products. He has led and directly impacted several national and international standards activities and industry conferences.

Prior to Com21, he held management and engineering positions at Hewlett-Packard in the broadband high-speed networking and system architecture areas.

He is an inventor on eight patents and is previously on the Advisory Board of several broadband, cable, and networking companies. He holds MSCS and BSEE degrees from the University of Delaware. His master's thesis professor is David J. Farber
